For more than seven years, our founder, Deja Bowen, served as an oncology social worker, supporting cancer patients and seeing firsthand that healing requires more than medical treatment alone.
Bloom Care was founded to help individuals affected by cancer experience restorative healing through retreats that facilitate community-centered support and holistic wellness.

Meet Our Founder
Deja Bowen’s passion for oncology care is deeply personal.
Born and raised in Riverside, California, she moved to Louisiana to pursue higher education, earning both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
At 21, she became a stem cell transplant donor for her mother, who was diagnosed with myelofibrosis, a rare blood cancer.
The transplant saved her mother’s life and changed the course of Deja’s.
That experience led her into oncology social work, where she now serves patients and families with both professional expertise and personal understanding.
In addition to clinical work, Deja partners with organizations like the American Cancer Society and Blood Cancer United, advocating at the federal level for patients who need a stronger voice.
Bloom Care is the extension of her commitment to ensuring no one impacted by cancer walks alone.
